MariaDB, not MySQL

The installer checks the database and stops if it is not MariaDB 11.7 or later. MySQL will not work.

InvoiceFlash needs a web server to be reachable on the Internet. Domain names and hosting services can easily be purchased for an affordable price. You can also install it on your own PC (see Install on Windows with XAMPP).

When selecting a hosting service, check that their servers provide these requirements.

Required PHP extensions

These extensions must be enabled for InvoiceFlash to install properly:

  • mysqli
  • gd
  • curl
  • openssl
  • zlib
  • zip
  • libxml
  • iconv or mbstring

In addition, file_uploads must be enabled and session.auto_start disabled in php.ini.

Almost all hosting providers offer these extensions. During installation it checks that you have them all enabled. If one is missing, contact your hosting provider.

Requirements for AI (optional)

Only if you are going to use AI:

  • With a cloud engine: an API key from Claude, OpenAI, NVIDIA or OpenRouter (set in Settings, AI tab).
  • With a local engine, and for searching your documents (RAG): Ollama with these models:
    • nomic-embed-text:latest: generates the embeddings for document search.
    • qwen2.5vl:3b: reads scanned invoices (OCR).
    • qwen3:1.7b: local AI chat.
